Ballet Solana begins it's Journey!

Ballet Solana began it's first class in late 2007. Four adult students ventured into class with an open mind and began the conception of what is now a group filled with 30 talented and dedicated dancers ranging in age from 5 years old to adults. Throughout the year dancers work vigorously on intricate footwork, elegant skirt work and skillful stage presence. Throughout the year Ballet Solana performs at local city events and every September brings a celebration of presenting a successful and productive new year with thier annual dance recital. To our outstanding Ballet Solana Students!!!!!!!

Our show was a great success! I must first say thank you once again to all those who helped with the performance. Whether it was sewing costumes, selling ticket or refreshments, helping dancers get ready backstage or helping with technical duties on stage....Your time and effort is greatly appreciated and you definitely helped our show be a success. For the dancers.... our show was a success simply because we all did our very best, were very professional backstage and on, showed our talents to the best of our abilities and had lots of fun! We all worked together and I believe felt each others energy on stage making our show a memorable one.! Ballet Solana's 2nd Annual Performnace showed just how much each dancer has improved this past year! You were amazing in my eyes and many others. I recieved compliments on your skirt work and unity, two things we strived on at each practice. You did not go on stage as one person but as a group filled with talent and compassion for dance and each other. I believe when a group of people share the same love and desire for a specific thing (Folklorico , Culture, Dance) thier power to present is GRAND! And all of you were outstanding. You may think you messed up on a step or went the wrong way but ultimately that was one miniscule moment compared to the lasting impression that was made by the group as a whole. Be proud of your accomplishments and do not remember the mistakes but rather the successes.

For those of you who wish to return and those that will be new, we look forward to new dances, different regions, new events, fundraisers and lots more fun! I am very excited to start class and see your talent grow and watch Ballet Solana continue to built our dance family! Congratulations on an amazing evening and making my dream become a reality!
