La Pasion De Mexico! It's Show Time!

With only one week left Ballet Solana is ready and excited to present our 2nd Annual Dance Recital! Come and support our dancers and see how much they have accomplished this past year! I am amazed and there is no doubt you will be to at how dedicated and enduring these dancers are. I could not ask for a more sofisticated group of dancers!

I've reposted this last blog for a reminder on show information! Hope to see you there!

A new session has begun and Ballet Solana is working vigorously on preparing for our 2nd Annual Dance Recital on Saturday, September 26th! A year's worth of repetitive dance moves, arm aching skirt work, precise choreography and detailed costume designing is quickly coming to an end. No not the end but the transition into the next level of danza folklorica! It is amazing to see each dancer progress through the year and watch each group grow closer as a team! Unity in desire and technique gives me goosebumps and an ultimate feeling of accomplishment. "Las Solanitas" are the core. These tiny seeds are the implantation of what I hope to become vibrant, beautiful dancers. Leading them are "Las Floresitas 1 & 2", who are beginning to blossom into quite the dancer. The fundamentals of foklorico are slowly embedded into their talented minds. Las Rositas" are new to Ballet Solana. With only 2 sessions of folklorico they have become the true meaning of enduring to the end or at least the next level! "Los Hombrecitos" are the young men of tomorrow, who keep a tradition and culture strong and proud. They come and go but always have a place to represent their power. "Las Mariposas", are grounded and have taken flight to explore a new level of dance and finally "Las Palomas" are adults who have taken a risk to try a new adventure that will leave them with a feeling of a great artistic pleasure! Students are eagerly awaiting thier performance day, to present to family, friends and community a talent and excitment that is ready to explode, a burst that will leave everyone with a sure appreciation of the Mexican culture! Join us for this celebration!

Latin American Festival!

We had the privlegde of performing two dances at the Latin American Festival in Provo. "Nuestra Racies" willingly gave us two spots from their program. Greatly appreciated we performed "Mexico Lindo" an interpretive dance representing the beauty of Mexico and a traditional dance from the state of Sinaloa, Sauca y la Palma, two dances that will be showcased in our annual recital on September 26th!(only three weeks away) I was able to get a video of the Sinaloa girls, who did an awesome job. Thanks girls for representing Ballet Solana so well and a special thank you to Nuestra Racies for sharing the spotlight!
